i’m not sure if studying american history is supposed to instill national pride, but as for me, it appears that everything the united states is today and ever has been is because we’re simply better at killing people than anyone else. what does it mean to be a superpower? i’m rather ashamed of it. it’s sad that power always involves the loss of human life, and the degree of that power is directly related to how efficiently we kill those people who stand in our way.
